Dr. Zhao worked in Professor Alissa Park’s group at Columbia between 2008-2014 on enhanced weathering of Ca/Mg bearing minerals for both in-situ and ex-situ carbon mineralization.  

 

Dr. Zhao joined Reservoir Engineering Institute as a research scientist in summer 2014 and worked on the interaction of CO2 and shale rock formation during the high pressure shale gas extraction. He was invited by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology as a research consultant between 2015 and 2016.

 

Spring 2017, Dr. Zhao rejoined Professor Park and his former colleague Dr. Zhou and co-founded Greenore. Since then, Dr. Zhao has been in charge of the engineering of scaling-up the Greenore process. Dr. Zhao has profound experience of EPCM and plant commissioning & operation during the Greenore pilot plant project and the on-going commercial project. He serves as the Chief Engineer throughout the entire project. Dr. Zhao is a member of AIChE and ACS.
