Dr. Moment spent 16 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a chemical engineer at Merck & Co. and DuPont Pharmaceuticals, where he developed expertise in reaction engineering, crystallization design, process scale-up, technology transfer, quality by design, process characterization, process definition, process safety, process analytical technology, and particle engineering.  

 

He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and MS and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from MIT.  He was a member of the 2006 and 2010 USPA Presidential Green Chemistry award teams for improvements to manufacturing Sitagliptin (Januvia), and is author of 5 patents related to pharmaceutical processes. He is a member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the American Chemical Society (ACS).

 

Dr. Moment has served as the technical advisor since 2018, focusing on the company's production-related business. Currently, Dr. Moment is also an Associate Professor in-Residence in Materials Science and Engineering at UCLA.
